We sold our saddle today!!!!!
Why do we have a saddle you may wonder? Well I will tell you...... About 10 and a half years ago Jake and I decided that we would get married. After we told our parents and various others, we went to good old Uncle Cy's house to tell him the good news. During the visit to his house we shared with him our hopes and dreams for the future. One of the dreams was to some day open and run a guest ranch with a lodge and horse riding and the works. So shortly after (some of you know how shortly) we were married and one of the gifts we received was this lovely saddle to use when we opened our guest ranch!
The thought was a wonderful thought and we love and appreciate Uncle Cy for trying to help us with our future plans. But, time has changed everything and that dream has galloped away!
So now I say, thank you Cy for your kindness and generosity. The money we received from the sale is very much needed and appreciated.
Just a little side note: (the saddle was a 1997 Genuine Billy Cook 14in. barrel racing saddle)

I am totally laughing mainly because I totally remember the first time you showed your saddle. I believe it was stored in Dante's room. I thought you had to be a cool person to be random enough to have a saddle but no horse!
Congratulations! How did you finally sell it?
That's awesome you sold it!
Oh My Goodness. I can't believe you've packed that around for so long! It is sad sometimes, to see our dreams go, and how they can change!
I've always wanted to be a DJ :)
I love that story :) Good post! It's funny how one man's... well, I wouldn't call it trash... but it's another man's treasure, you know?
Yeah, funny huh!!!! We finally put it on Craigslist after this many years. Some lady had 7 of her saddles stolen and needed to replace them ASAP especially for her petite barrel racing daughter!!!
Just in time too.....I have a lot of dental work that needs to be done and the money is almost the right amount to pay for it!!!
Darn teeth!
